Tools and Resources to Help You With SEO
SEO Made Simple Series: Part 5
As search marketing and SEO continues to grow as an important part of an organization’s overall marketing effort, more and more smart tools are being developed to make finding and interpreting search data easier. Here are some of the best tools that I’ve found.
- Keyword Research: Tools like Google AdWords Keyword Suggestions can help you start choosing the right keywords to optimize your site for based on the content of your site and/or descriptive words you enter.
- Back Links: To see who is linking back to your site type “link:sitename” in a Google search. A list of all the sites that link to your site are displayed in the search window. A good way of finding more relevant sites to get linked from is by doing the same search for your competitors’ websites
- Competitors’ Data: You can use browser plugins like SEO for Firefox to get info about your competitors’ websites while you search.
- Website Analytics: Once your visitors start arriving, you’ll want to be able to know what they’re looking at and how long they’re engaging with your site. Concise, easy-to-understand analytics tools like StatsAdvisor can provide a wealth of valuable information about your site including what links visitors are clicking on, how long they are spending on your site, and how they are finding you.
