Challenge

As more teachers have turned to the web for resources for their classrooms, Smekens Education knew that to achieve their goal of being the leader in their industry, that they’d have to more effectively engage teachers online. Smekens wanted to increase online sales and registrations for their training seminars.

Solution

Smekens partnered with Effect to create a new website which included two separate parts. One part called the Literacy Store, was an eCommerce site which featured easy-to-follow navigation and the capability of having special sales and discounts. The other part highlighted Smekens teaching seminars and consulting services. Effect also created the Idea Library, an interactive social tool for teachers to post and share ideas for the classroom.

Results

The new website achieved Smekens’ goals of growing online sales plus increased the demand for their seminars. “Online sales far surpassed any previous online sales – goal accomplished! Our customers are impressed by the site and we are always getting good feedback,” said Brady Smekens, Vice President.
